SWAT – CHITRAL CHILAM JOSHI KALASH

Group members leaving Lahore will depart at 04:00 AM and arrive in Islamabad at 08:30 AM. They will have breakfast together, with members joining from Islamabad at 09:00 AM. At 10:30 AM, proceed to Sadu Sharif, which is approximately a 4-hour drive covering 350 km. Upon arrival in Sadu Sharif in the afternoon, the group will explore historical sites and scenic spots. Dinner will be served at the hotel.

Following Breakfast, travel through the Lowari Tunnel, which is about 10.4 km long and connects Dir and Chitral. We will have lunch en route before heading to Legendary Hotel & Resort Chitral and have dinner.

Following Breakfast, proceed to Rumber Valley by Jeeps, a pivotal village of the Kalasha Tribe, to immerse ourselves in the vibrant Chilam Joshi Festival. This celebration marks the arrival of spring in the region, embodying the essence of Kalasha culture. Engaging in lively dances, capturing memorable moments through photography, and enjoying interactive exchanges, we’ll fully embrace the vibrant spirit of the Kalash Tribe. Our journey includes a stroll to the town centre, where we’ll witness the distinctive traditions of the Kalasha people, and head to Bumboret Valley. Lunch at a local restaurant, providing us with an authentic taste of Kalasha cuisine. Visit a local museum, offering insight into the area’s fascinating history and cultural heritage. Back to the Hotel and dinner at the hotel.

After breakfast, we’ll journey to Chitral for a panoramic tour. Our first stop is the historic Chitral Fort, once the stronghold of the ancient kingdom of Chitral. The fort offers a glimpse into its rich past, and inside it, we’ll visit the magnificent Shahi Mosque. We’ll enjoy lunch at a nearby restaurant that offers breathtaking panoramic vistas of the valley. Later in the evening, we’ll head to the Markhor viewpoint for a chance to catch sight of the magnificent Markhor. If lucky, we might even witness an exhilarating polo match at the Chitral Polo Ground. Following our exploration of the lively Chitral streets and its bustling Bazaar, we’ll return to the hotel for dinner.

After breakfast, check out of the hotel and embark on our journey back to Islamabad or Lahore.
