- PROGRAM:
- 09:00 Hours: Departure from Islamabad to Taxila.
- Explore the Julian Buddhist Monastery, an ancient Buddhist University dating back to the 2nd Century.
- Visit Taxila Museum.
- Explore Dharmarajika Stupa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site built in the 2nd Century over the remains of an even older Stupa constructed by Mauryan emperor King Ashoka in the 3rd Century BCE to enshrine small bone fragments of Buddha.
- Noon Hours: Departure for Peshawar.
- Arrive in Peshawar, check into the hotel, and enjoy lunch.
- 14:00 Hours: Visit Peshawar Museum.
- Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
- 08:30 Hours: Departure for Takht Bhai to explore the Parthian Buddhist Monastery Archaeological site.
- 12:30 Hours: Proceed to Jamal Garhi Buddhist Monastery/Stupa ruins with lunch en route.
- Visit Shahbaz Garhi Rock Edicts, dating back to the 3rd Century BC (272-231 BC) during the reign of Ashoka, the renowned Mauryan emperor. The rock edicts, inscribed in the Kharoshthi script, were added to the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List on January 30, 2004, in the Cultural category.
